Auburn Ca.
Michael Kirby Story and Photos
This week Fast Friday’s Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn Ca., presented more fast action speedway racing on the tricky dirt oval at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. It is the sixth week of the 2026 season. Two youth riders, Brady Landon and Jameson Hutchinson returned to the Fast Fridays program from racing in Poland in the SGP3 Championships. Hutchinson in the qualifying rounds and Landon in the championship rounds where he placed second in the world.
One of the highlights of the evening was round three of the season long popular six round Team Challenge Series. Riders race in six rounds accumulating points during three heats in each round. Three points for a win, two points for a second place finish and one point for a third place finish. The team with the most points after the championship round on August 14 wins the series.
Coming into the evening the score was Team Law Tigers 23 points to Team IFC’s (Integrated Financial Concepts) 13 points. Team IFC had a lot of ground to make up and they took advantage of the use of the Joker which gives a designated rider on a team that is six points or more down double points for their ride.
In heat two of the three heats, IFC’s Brady Landon’s was the Joker and he used every bit of the bonus scoring in a big way with a win and picking up six points for his ride. Three points for the win-doubled for the Joker use. Combined with one point Shawn Eldridge scored for a third place finish, Team IFC picked up seven points in one heat. Adding more points, IFC’s Broc Nicol scored a win in the first heat and Daniel Faria added one point for a third place finish. Continuing on their scoring blitz, Timmy Dion added two more points in heat three with a second place finish. Combined, Team IFC scored 13 points doubling their overall score.
Team Law Tigers did not just sit idle and let Team IFC back into the game easily. In heat one Billy Janniro picked up two points with a second place finish, Darren Armbruster picked up two points with a second place finish in heat two. Russell Green won heat three adding three points and Antonio Coffman finished third for one more. Team Law Tiger’s total for the night was eight points. The score settled at Team Law Tigers still leading Team IFC 31-26, but Team IFC sure closed the gap, just four points down. The very exciting series continues on July 10 with round four.

Dion was second, Armbruster was third and Dan Faria was fourth.

Second in his heat race and then third in the semi-final, Green got it together passing Daniel Faria in a late lap to take the lead for the finish in the main event. Brady Landon was second and Broc Nicol was third.
