All season long at Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn Ca. riders in Division I and both Support Divisions race and gather points. All of this is in preparation for the Fast Fridays 2026 Track Championships which were held last night September 5 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds.
In Division I Billy Janniro led with 1608 points, Broc Nicol was second with 1585 points, Darren Armbruster was third with 1355 points and Brady Landon fourth with 1316 points. Marc Denniston led the Support D2 division with 691 points followed by Brandon Hendrickson with 685 points and Antonio Coffman in third-place with 649 points. Sebe Denniston was the leader in the Support D3 division with 707 points, Sean McAndrew was second with 650 points and Tim Dion was third with 643.
For the Division I riders they rode in a championship program of 20 scratch heat races with each rider accumulating points for each ride scoring three points for a win, two points for a second-place finish, one points for third-place and zero points for a fourth place finish. They all raced against each other at least once and rode out of every gate position at least once. The points are added up and the rider with the most points after the heat 20 races has earned the title of 2026 Fast Friday’s Track Champion.
In the event of a tie there would be a run-off for the championship, but in this case this was not needed. Young speedster Brady Landon continues to dazzle Fast Friday’s fans with his growing skills on a speedway bike and this continued Saturday night when he had a perfect night scoring wins every time he rode onto the track, winning the track championship.
Landon was perfect along with current AMA National Speedway Champion Broc Nicol who carded wins in all of his races also and the big showdown came later in the program when the two met on the start line. Both Landon and Nicol had 12 points at this point each. Coming up two races later was Billy Janniro who was just two points behind and if by chance the unexpected happened in their race he could of came in to win the championship with a win in his race.
Not to worry though, the unexpected did not happen. Lining up with them was Shawn Eldredge and Mike Newnham in the middle two lanes of these two powerhouses. Landon was in the outside lane four and Nicol in the inside lane one as the tapes went up. These two very skilled riders put on a two man show that will not long be forgotten.
Out of the gate Landon was in the lead at turn one and Nicol was right on Landon’s tail just a foot or so behind the youngster. This went on for the entire race with Nicol trying to go wide and take Landon, but he could not get around the cagey Landon and they finished that way with Landon winning the race and scoring a perfect 15 points winning the 2026 Fast Fridays Track Championship. Right behind him after this excellent race was Nicol fist bumping him on the cool down lap and finishing in second-place place for the night with 14 points. Janniro won the last race of the night and ended his night with 13 points and third-place.
The Pee-Wee’s also got a chance to be in the spotlight with their track championship. Running in a championship program, the Pee-Wee’s were put into 20 scratch heats just like the Division I riders. These young riders on 50cc motorcycles and decked out in riding and safety gear took to the track like serious professional riders each out to get as many points to win the championship.
All season long Dexter Orlando has been a powerhouse in the Pee-Wee division and he proved his prowess on a motorcycle Saturday night with a perfect night scoring 15 points and coming away with the championship. Orlando’s big competition was Ricky Janniro, son of national champion Billy Janniro, and the apple does not fall far from the tree. Janniro was perfect until he faced Orlando in the final series of heats when he finished second to Orlando and picked up second-place in the championship scoring 14 points. Clyde Rivera was third in the championship dropping a point finishing in second-place to Orlando and Janniro when he faced them in the heat races. Standing on the winner’s podium with trophies nearly as tall as each of the boys the smiles were non-stop, a memory not soon to be forgotten.
The Support Class championships were staged a little different. They rode in a heat races in each division with the top two finishers transferring to the main event and the third and fourth place finisher transferring to a consolation race.
In the Support Division D2 Marc Denniston and Cody Baugh transferred to the main event with first and second-place finishes. Catherine Moore and Mike Newnham also worked into the main event with first and second-place finishes. In the main event it was Catherine Moore who led all the way from tape to finish line with a near perfect ride winning the championship. Baugh was second, Denniston was third-place and Newnham was fourth.
In the Support Division D3 it worked the same with Jeff Schoenstein and John Kaderka transferring to the main from their heat race with first and second-place finishes, Cody Baugh, who was riding in both divisions, and Sean McAndrew making the main event with their first-place and second-place finishes. The main event was a great race with Schoenstein and McAndrew going neck and neck with each other just inches apart until the finish line with Schoenstein edging ahead for the win and the championship. McAndrew was second and Kaderka was third and Baugh was fourth.
It was a stellar night of championship racing by the riders in all of the divisions and hats off to the Fast Friday’s staff and crew for running a perfect program of 46 races.
There will be no races next week on Saturday September 12 because of the Gold Country Fair. The next race will be on Saturday September 19 when the final round of the 2026 AMA National Speedway Championship concludes at Fast Fridays. It is a two round championship (first round at City of Industry) and at the end of the evening on September 19 a number one plate will be awarded to the winner. The competition is tight coming into the final round. Leading is Max Ruml with 26 points, followed by Brady Landon with 22 points and Broc Nicol with 20 points. This is one race not to be missed, see you there.
